Soft Tissue refers to muscles, tendons, ligaments and fascia. Soft Tissue therapy is appropriate for everyone, regardless of age, gender or fitness level and is particularly effective for treating back pain, scar tissue, plantar fasciitis, frozen shoulder and tennis elbow.

Combined with massage , it uses a combination of stretching techniques such as Muscle Energy Technique (MET) and Soft Tissue Release (STR) as well as myofascial release, trigger point therapy and other methods.

Soft Tissue Therapy can be both psychologically and physically relaxing, helping restore normal function and improve posture and flexibility. Techniques reduce pain, promote rehabilitation and sporting performance and help prevent injury by resetting the affected tissue through engagement of the nervous system.

Often used alongside physiotherapy and osteopathy, Sports Massage treatments are recommended both for athletes and individuals who engage in regular physical activity and who are prone to related injury.

Sports massage is a targeted treatment for minor and chronic injuries, for maintaining optimal physical condition and for preventing injury pre and post athletic event. This treatment aims to improve muscle and connective tissue function, helping joint related issues, improving muscle performance and accelerating repair.

During your session, we’ll work together towards your recovery and performance goals, using a wide range of techniques to realign and loosen muscle fibres helping promote better posture and movement for optimal athletic performance. These can include Soft Tissue Therapy, Trigger Point Therapy and joint mobilisation.

Remedial Massage

Remedial massage is rehabilitative and restorative, treating a wide range of musculoskeletal problems, not necessarily linked to sports activities. It focuses on the whole body whilst addressing specific problem areas and uses gentler, more gradual release techniques and mobilisations, which can be more comfortable for people sensitive to deeper, more intense massage, who have certain underlying conditions or who are recovering from injury as well as for those who would prefer a calmer, more tranquil experience.

Remedial massage is a great option if you’re looking for pain relief, injury management or want to address specific non sports related issues such as stress, muscle tension, sciatica, injury, are looking to improve sleep or simply want to switch off and relax.

This is a holistic therapy, used to soothe and promote calm, relaxation and better sleep. It is energising, mood lifting and restorative. Various techniques are used to release muscular tension, improve flexibility and boost immune function and a sense of wellbeing.
